Programming is available year-round from 7:30am to 5:30pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Child-Centered:<\/strong>&nbsp;At HSC, we \u201cmeet each child where they are\u201d. Our goal is to prepare each child for individual success. Each classroom uses early childhood education, listening and spoken language, literacy and sensory integration techniques.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1280\" height=\"853\" src=\"https:\/\/hscky.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/b02a3029-1-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-467\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hscky.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/b02a3029-1-1.jpg 1280w, https:\/\/hscky.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/b02a3029-1-1-768x512.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1280px) 100vw, 1280px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p><strong>Language-Enriched Programming:<\/strong>&nbsp;Words are powerful! The number of words a child knows and uses when entering school is the best indicator for academic success. HSC classrooms are developing a core vocabulary for all children, offering basic vocabulary within each theme, stimulating early literacy skills, increasing listening and spoken language skills, and meeting and exceeding the Kentucky early childhood standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Benefits of the Preschool Program include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Small classroom size (1:6 ratio)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Inclusive classrooms (all children learning together)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Daily individual, small group and large group instruction<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Center based learning activities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Developmental assessments<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Individualized programming for each child<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All children receive hearing and speech screenings<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Access to individual speech and language therapy and hearing services onsite<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Serving children with and without hearing loss and speech\/language delays<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sound fields in every classroom (evenly distributes teacher\u2019s voice across the classroom)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Collaborative programming with community organizations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In-house field trips<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>All children who receive speech\/language or audiology services from HSC are eligible to apply for a tuition scholarship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/hscky.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/hsc-scholarship-application-packet.pdf\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/hscky.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/hsc-scholarship-application-packet.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Scholarship Application Form<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Early Learning Center at The Hearing &amp; Speech Center (HSC) offers morning and afternoon preschool classes, as well as extended childcare.
