HSC offers an educational option for families choosing listening and spoken language as their primary communication mode.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Goals:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Children will use spoken language as their primary means of communicating<\/li><li>Children will successfully mainstream with little to no special education services<\/li><li>Parents are involved in their child\u2019s education<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Classroom Benefits:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Sound fields in every classroom<\/li><li>Personal FM systems to obtain maximum acoustic benefits<\/li><li>Daily hearing equipment checks (hearing aids and cochlear implants)<\/li><li>Monitoring of the child\u2019s hearing and adjustment of hearing equipment<\/li><li>Loaner hearing equipment when necessary<\/li><li>Individual speech\/language therapy<\/li><li>Interdisciplinary team approach with audiologist, speech therapist and teachers<\/li><li>Language-enriched classroom instruction<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"camps\">Language Stimulation Summer Camps<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Hearing &amp; Speech Center &#8220;Language Stimulation Camps&#8221; are a collaborative program led by preschool teachers with certifications in deaf\/hard of hearing and early childhood education that are licensed and certified through the state of Kentucky and HSC and speech pathologists.
