HSC offers an educational option for families choosing listening and spoken language as their primary communication mode.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Goals:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Children will use spoken language as their primary means of communicating<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Children will successfully mainstream with little to no special education services<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Parents are involved in their child\u2019s education<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Classroom Benefits:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Sound fields in every classroom<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Personal FM systems to obtain maximum acoustic benefits<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Daily hearing equipment checks (hearing aids and cochlear implants)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Monitoring of the child\u2019s hearing and adjustment of hearing equipment<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Loaner hearing equipment when necessary<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Individual speech\/language therapy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Interdisciplinary team approach with audiologist, speech therapist and teachers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Language-enriched classroom instruction<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Educational Programming for Children with Hearing Loss Educational programs at The Hearing &amp; Speech Center (HSC) are available for children ages 6 weeks-kindergarten with hearing loss.
